Caoimhe Barry

My name is Caoimhe Barry and I am from Ballydonoghue. I am 17 years old and have been playing music since I was 5 years old. Like most people I began with the tin-whistle and fell in love with it, now 12 years later I’m still passionate about the tin-whistle as well as the concertina.

I’m not sure where my interest in music came from but my grandmother always credited herself for putting me listening to Daniel O’Donnell as a baby! I now teach music to younger musicians and hope to help them develop a love for music and grow as musicians. I am very lucky to have the opportunity to assist the music teachers in Ballydonoghue Comhaltas and gain experience from them, specifically Katie McNamara. I particularly enjoy playing music in groups and learning new tunes that I hear. As well as music I also enjoy singing and listening to popular music, walking and basketball but music is my passion.
